As a new business owner; especially a solopreneur, you don't necessarily need a full-scale formal version of a business plan but you do need to have one. A business plan will describe how you are going to turn your vision of a successful business into a reality, describe where your business will be over time and how you are going to effectively manage your business. Lastly, a business plan will send a message loud and clear you understand your business, the challenges and can deliver the results.
