Small Business Development Center Programs
Local Business Counseling and Training
The Colorado SBDC Network consists of 20 community based SBDC service-centers that provide free one-on-one counseling services in the areas of business research and marketing, new business feasibility analysis, business plan preparation, finance packaging and other small business topics. Local SBDCs offer workshops and seminars for business owners and act as information clearing houses. Individual local offices specialize in international trade, government procurement, manufacturing, home-based business and technology resources. The SBDC receives inputs from the SBDC State Advisory Board.
When you contact your nearest SBDC location for counseling, you may register online via this site, or you may download and complete the SBA Request for Counseling Form and bring it with you.
Business Services
The Colorado Leading Edge entrepreneurial training program assists businesses through a 10 to 14 week intensive business education program. Successful graduates of the Leading Edge will have a complete and comprehensive business plan for their business. The primary emphasis of Leading Edge is assistance for existing business owners; however, new and prospective business owners who have a clear idea for their business also participate in Leading Edge business training.
The Governor’s Small Business Council & the Colorado SBDC Advisory Board
The mission of the Governor's Small Business Council (SBC) and the Colorado SBDC Advisory Board is to enhance the development, growth and prosperity of Colorado small business by serving as a resource to the Governor and the General Assembly on statewide business issues, gathering and disseminating information about capital resources and technical assistance available to small businesses, and by acting as an advocate. Small business issues including regulatory reform and access to capital, technical assistance and telecommunications.
The Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC)
The Colorado SBDC is part of a larger network of over 900 SBDCs. The mission of the network is to help new entrepreneurs realize their dream of business ownership, and to assist existing businesses to remain competitive in the complex marketplace of an ever-changing global economy.
