Meet Your Guest: Michelle Jeske - City Librarian

Join us for a conversation with Michelle Jeske, Denver's tenth City Librarian in Denver Public Library’s 130 year history! In this role Michelle acts as the Chief Executive Officer, leading a dynamic, innovative team of over 600 staff serving more than 4.1 million annual visitors each year. This is more than twice the number of attendees of any of the culturals in town. If you’re not currently using your library’s high quality and free resources, you’re missing out! It’s way more than the library of your youth.

During the pandemic, creating welcoming spaces has been challenging but Michelle led her team to quickly pivot to curbside service, virtual programming for all ages, outdoor computing, mobile services, home delivery and much more. The library has prioritized serving the most vulnerable among us during this difficult year.

Michelle is President of the Public Library Association, a 9,000 member national organization, and her honors include Public Library Association (PLA) Leadership Fellow, Colorado Librarian of the Year and Library Journal Mover and Shaker.
