This workshop teaches you the basics of financials for your small business. You will learn why financial statements are important and walk away understanding the following: Various types of accounts (assets, liability, equity, revenue, cost of goods sold, and expense), Your balance sheet, Business indicators such as gross profit, net profit, and breakeven analysis, Cash flow management Through this workshop, you will receive information that will help you make sound financial decisions for your business.

Speaker(s): Rosy Aburto McDonough

Presenter Bio: Rosy Aburto McDonough has been a business consultant and mentor throughout her professional career. Rosy is an independent contractor with Colorado SBDC office in the Disaster Recovery and Connect2DOT programs statewide. She is also an affiliate faculty at Regis University Dual Language Program, where she teachers accounting, tax, finance, strategic management and business sustainability. Rosy achieved her bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science (Applied Mathematics) at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Her graduating dissertation was in Risk Management. Rosy completed an MBA with emphasis in Finance and International Business at the University of Colorado at Denver. Rosy has an entrepreneurial spirit and as a result has owned several businesses throughout her life. Most recently, a company called National Credit Check; using her extensive credit experience she served the tenant and employment screening and mortgage service industries nation-wide. The company operated in the U.S., and various Latin American markets, including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Colombia. Her banking experience includes specialty markets, corporate relations, credit analysis, and business banking.
