Finding Where You Stand (budgeting, cash flow, Profit First, actuals) 5. Building Your Plan 6. Cash Flow As A Tool (how to pay yourself, how to increase cash flow, product/service lines) 7. Moving Forward 8. Why Businesses Fail and How Not to be One of Them (the money obstacle) The 8-module course includes video instruction paired with downloadable templates/worksheets. Each individual module consists of a 2-12 minute instructional video paired with self-paced homework (30-90 minutes) designed to further understanding of cash flow in your business. You will be able to access the course for six weeks. We encourage you to work through the course worksheets, and follow up with an SBDC finance professional for no-cost individual consulting and financial review.

Speaker(s): Kelly Johnston: A graduate of the SBDC’s Leading Edge strategic planning series, Kelly continues to partner with the SBDC to consult with small business owners and facilitate trainings on cash flow and understanding financial statements. Her no-nonsense approach to the numbers will help you understand the importance of knowing where your business stands, what needs attention, and where to focus as you navigate the changing world of business. Kelly brings experience in both the public accounting and private industry accounting fields. Her background includes a bachelor’s in finance and a master’s in accounting. Her education and experience bring value to start ups, developing businesses, and healthcare organizations by creating strong financial reporting practices and developing crucial financial reporting mechanisms.
