Business Fundamentals for Child Care Providers
This 4-part course is designed to help Colorado child care providers strengthen their business practices, improve resiliency, and increase revenue. Open to both center-based and home-based providers—including startups—no prior business training is required. Participants can also access free one-on-one English and Spanish advising with an SBDC advisor during and after the course. Key business topics covered:
- Child care regulatory requirements and updates
- Business planning, cash flow and marketing strategies for child care providers
- Business continuity and recovery best practices
- Legal and financial considerations for child care providers
- Licensing process, Colorado Shines, and the PDIS system
Offered at no cost through a partnership between Colorado Department of Early Childhood and the Colorado SBDC.
This is a 4-part series held over two weeks - Wednesday and Thursday evenings - June 18, 19, 24 & 25 from 6pm - 8pm.
All sessions will use the same Zoom meeting link that is provided when you register.
Earn Professional Development Credits - Providers who complete the course requirements are eligible for ongoing professional development hours through your Colorado Shines PDIS account. To receive credit, attendance, active participation and visible presence are required for all virtual class sessions. You must be on camera and engaged with the cohort throughout the class, focused on the learning environment and avoiding multi-tasking.
Speaker(s): Specialized Child Care SBDC advisors, Jesse Esparza and Juanita Puga are joined by licensing specialists from Colorado Department of Early Childhood and local Early Childhood Council members to share key resources and expertise.
