• You have worked long and hard with a prospect and when you get to “the close”, disappointment hits like a ton of rocks as the client states they have no money. • You have taken the time to understand what the prospect really needs. They ask you for a proposal including your pricing. Weeks pass before you discover that the prospect took your proposal and gave it to a competitor along with the order. • After spending considerable time developing and presenting the proposal, you go for the close, you are encouraged when the client says, “Looks good, I like what I see, I just need to think it over, check with the team. Get back to me early next week.” Anticipation quickly turns to frustration as your efforts to reconnect with the prospect are fruitless. Can you relate to the above illustrations?
