Meet Your Guest: Andrew Schmidt
Andrew Schmidt is the founding Visionary for Core Contractors, Roofing Systems, a commercial and residential roofing contractor in Denver, CO. As winner of the 2021, Small Business of the Year, by the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Core has grown to 40 employees in 11 years and lives by the core belief that ‘Doing It Right Matters’. A student of operationalizing vision and value-driven behavior into organizations, Andrew is passionate about moving the needle in other people's lives, both at Core and in the community. In 2016, Andrew spearheaded efforts to bring The Other Side Academy (Tosa) to Denver and launched in May of '19 after a capital campaign of over 5MM. Tosa is a two-year, residential, self-sustaining social enterprise that helps people escape the cycle of drug addiction and criminality through the operation of small businesses. In 2019, Andrew was a finalist for 9news, Leader of the Year and DBJ’s 40 under 40 winner. Andrew currently serves on boards of the DMCC Leadership Foundation, Platinum Advisory Board for Owens Corning, and Chair of Tosa Denver. His greatest joys, though, are his two kids under 5 (sometimes) and his wife, Mackenzie... (all the time).
