CEV Breakfast: Getting Started with Lean Manufacturing for Small Enterprises

Some of the tools used by Lean practitioners that will be discussed in this session, such as Plan-Do-Check-Act and Kata, focus on developing daily habits of improving, adapting and innovating by providing a systematic, standard routine that can be applied to problem solving and goal achievement. This develops both leaders' and learners' skills in standardizing how they navigate uncertainty and develop solutions in pursuit of company goals.

The experienced engineers and business professionals at Manufacturer's Edge have skills in manufacturing, management, process improvements and technology acceleration and work closely with manufacturers to provide company assessments and customized solutions including hands-on facilitation and implementation.Cynthia Christie has been in manufacturing for 32 years beginning with GE Aerospace designing jet engines. She's worked in and with both large and small companies. Her most recent 25 years of experience includes managing or directing functions such as Technical Sales, Customer and Technical Service, and Training and Consulting Services Development. A Lean Enterprise expert with a specialty in administrative, services, engineering and transactional-based business functions, she has 17 years experience helping companies improve their profitability and competitiveness. Her work with over 60 companies spanning most of Colorado's manufacturing-related industries has gained millions of dollars in measurable strategic performance improvement through enlightened leadership and management, employee engagement, process excellence and smart integration of information systems. She has extensive experience fostering impactful relationships with organizations such as Colorado State University Office of Engagement, Larimer County Workforce Center, regional Economic Development offices, and Front Range Community College for the benefit of Colorado Manufacturers and their supply chain.
