Apr

2017
Tue 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM

What if your organization could harness the power of approaching everything they do with a mindset of engaging employees in maximizing customer value while minimizing waste? Lean concepts, methodologies and tools have the potential of transforming your organization by eliminating waste and streamlining the flow of people, products and information.

Some of the tools used by Lean practitioners that will be discussed in this session, such as Plan-Do-Check-Act and Kata, focus on developing daily habits of improving, adapting and innovating by providing a systematic, standard routine that can be applied to problem solving and goal achievement. This develops both leaders' and learners' skills in standardizing how they navigate uncertainty and develop solutions in pursuit of company goals.

This workshop, through a combination of class, simulation and take-away practices, will give you an introduction to the world of lean and some of its most powerful tools.

During this workshop, we will discuss:

  • The basic principles and terminology of Lean
  • How to differentiate between value-added and non-value-added activities
  • Tools and techniques such as Hoshin Strategy Deployment, Plan-Do-Check-Act and Kata
  • How to begin a Lean initiative
Lean principles and techniques, when applied in your organization with dedication and determination, have the possibility of:

- Improved customer service
- Reduced re-work and scrap, and better quality
- Improved bottom line
- Empowered and involved employees
- Reduced wastes of materials, information, space, and people
- An aligned organization focused on appropriate goals
